Our Service
Temporary heating while your system is repaired or replaced
When a commercial heating system fails, maintaining suitable heating conditions can become an urgent priority.
Stack provides temporary boiler hire for commercial buildings across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We work with customers to assess their heating requirements, identify suitable equipment and arrange the services needed to get temporary heating in place.
When might you need a temporary boiler?
- An existing commercial boiler has broken down.
- A heating system requires major repairs.
- Replacement equipment cannot be installed immediately.
- A permanent heating system is temporarily unavailable following a failure.
- Essential heating needs to be maintained while remedial work is completed.
Every enquiry is assessed individually to establish a suitable solution.

Heating & Hot Water
Solutions tailored to your building
Depending on the equipment selected and your building's requirements, temporary boilers may be able to provide heating, hot water or both.
We'll consider your existing heating system, the required capacity and the available connections before recommending equipment. Not every temporary boiler is suitable for every application, so a site assessment helps establish the most appropriate arrangement.
Choosing the Right Boiler
We'll help you understand what you need
You don't need to know the exact boiler capacity before contacting Stack. We'll assess information about your building and existing system, which may include:
- Existing boiler capacity
- Building size and heating demand
- Heating and hot water requirements
- Existing connections
- Available installation space
- Site access
- Expected hire duration

Site Assessment & Preparation
Making sure everything is suitable
Before installation, Stack assesses the practical requirements of positioning and connecting a temporary boiler. This includes reviewing available space, access for delivery, trailer positioning and the existing heating system.
Customers will need to provide a suitable location for the equipment. Any additional requirements, including permissions or permits where relevant, will need to be established before installation.

Delivery & Installation
Arranging your temporary heating
Once your requirements have been assessed and a quotation agreed, Stack can arrange delivery of the selected temporary boiler. Where required, we can also arrange professional installation and connections to the existing heating system, charged separately from standard boiler hire.
Delivery and connection typically take around 2–3 days, subject to availability, site conditions and the work required. Urgent requirements are considered individually, but specific response or installation times cannot be guaranteed.

Maintenance & Ongoing Support
Support throughout your hire
Stack provides ongoing support during the hire period, including maintenance and assistance if the temporary boiler develops a fault.
If you experience a problem with the equipment, contact our team so the issue can be assessed and appropriate assistance arranged.
Hire Terms
Hire for as long as you need
Clear, flexible arrangements from the first quotation through to collection.
Flexible hire periods
Our minimum hire period is four weeks. Commercial heating repairs and replacement projects don’t always run to a fixed schedule, so hire can be extended by agreement.
We’ll discuss the anticipated hire period when preparing your quotation.
Understanding hire costs
We provide individual quotations rather than fixed prices. Costs depend on boiler capacity, length of hire, delivery location, installation and connection requirements, site conditions and any additional services.
Installation and connection work is quoted separately where applicable. Fuel supply and running costs are discussed as part of the quotation.
Ending your hire
When your temporary boiler is no longer required, contact Stack to discuss ending the hire.
We’ll arrange collection and any necessary disconnection work in accordance with the agreed hire arrangements.
